Bahamas...
After spending a week in Fort Lauderdale I now find myself in the .....Bahamas . You must be wondering what's it like here ? What the provisioning like in the Bahamas.
We left Fort Lauderdale and headed to Nassau which is 303km (188 miles). Places to provision in Nassau when you get there:
The next cool thing was visiting the 'Pigs' at Staniel Cay. Oh yes , I said pigs. These pigs live on the beach and love the water. It has become such a tourist attraction where people go to the pig beach and go and feed them.
One thing I must tell you ...Give them food straight away ..If they see you with food they get so excited that they will swim from the beach to the water where you are ...and if you don't give it fast enough they will bite you.
It has happened to me. Fortunately they did not bite me. Thank goodness! I was in the tender and busy getting out of the water ,when the pig saw me ...and started running from the beach to the water ...going so fast. It most probably thought .Oh damn no I am not going to miss this food , or better yet let any of the other get it . Let me gun it. I was holding a container with bread inside it. and the pig got so excited and I couldn't opened the container quick enough...That I had to shout to one of the crew members to quickly call it and give it bottle water...the pig quickly looked away ...and started swimming towards the water that being poured from the tender into the water. They love bottle water..hahha
I then quickly made my way in the tender...safely! not being bitten. Everyone had a good laugh, but when the pig sea you with food give it STRAIGHT AWAY. Otherwise what happened to me will happen to you .hahah

- Solomon's Fresh Market
- Quality Markets
- The Village Grocery Store
- Super Value Foods
The Place where I did all my provisioning was at Solomon's Fresh Market (excellent quality) I was happy there. It's a bit more than Super Value Super Centre ,but there's a bigger variety , but having said that I was also happy with the produce I got from Solomon's . The drive to Solomon's is a bit further away if you are at Atlantis /Hurricane Hole Marina .
Provisioning wise it's best you get everything you want and stock up good at Nassau , because the shops in the Exumas doesn't have a big variety...And prices are much more, but if you are in desperate need ....not to worry there are shops.
Some of highlights from Bahamas for me so far as been swimming with the nurse sharks....oh yes ! The nurse sharks. You must be wondering where...? They are pretty much all over , but you can actually swim up close to them at Compass Key (definitely one of my favourite places in the Exuams by far).
I was very afraid to swim with them ,but after awhile you start to feel relaxed and then its not that bad. They are really such beautiful creatures.
It is advised when feeding the nurse sharks stay out of their way, or get out of the water as there has been cases where people have been bitten...not serious , but better stay out of their way.

That is definitely something I would highly recommend is swimming with the nurse sharks .It was one of the coolest experience .
