AMSTERDAM

The month in Thailand was truly a  wonderful experience,  learning all there is to know about the culture, cuisine and history.
I love Thai food , so being there to do the Thai Cooking Course was  awesome.
So , after spending a month in Thailand,  it was time to say bye ...

Next stop was  a 10h15 minute flight to Amsterdam with a short transit in Moscow. It was freezing cold when I arrived there, ranging from minus to zero degrees!!! I am not use to  cold like that ,  having lived all my live in the tropics and then arriving from tropical Thailand.

The flight from Moscow to Amsterdam was just over 3 hours ...really short to think how far it is. I spent two days in Amsterdam ...what a beautiful city!

When in Amsterdam try the delicious Bitterballendeep fried crispy meatball served with mustard for dipping . If you have a sweet tooth try the stroopwafel. They are known for their raw herring served with pickles and onions . Not a fan of raw herring ?  try Kibbeling a go. If you are a cheese lover like me, this is your place. You will find many cheese stores selling the most delicious Dutch cheese.
If you love liquorice, you are in for a treat - the Dutch are known for their liquorice .

When its winter the perfect comfort meal is soup - try the delicious Snert soup it is a  thick green stew of split peas, pork, celery, onions and leeks...
I came across a very cute restaurant making fresh and healthy salads and delicious soups making it very hard to choose from.

This is a Hungarian Goulash soup

                                                                                       A must go!

Amsterdam, I really hope to be back soon!
